The Sunday Post: Sale Shopping & Ed's Diner

Yesterday me & mum ventured on over to Lakeside Shopping Center in Essex to brave the sales and get some lunch. We didn't manage well in the sales area - I found a beaut coat in Forever 21 but decided against it; instead we went crazy in Primark buying underwear & pyjamas!

For lunch we were torn on what to eat. Jacket potatoes, Italian, or Ed's Diner... I guess you see who won. Ed's Diner is like an American themed diner and their food is delicious. We both ordered burgers; mums being plain, mine being cheesy. Look how big they are! I decided on cheesy chips which were just incredible. As for that chocolate milkshake you can see. ohmygod the best milkshake I have ever had. For £4 you got the milkshake in that stainless steel jug and you just kept refilling it yourself! So in reality I had about 3 chocolate milkshakes!

We then braved the shops. It was too busy to properly look at the sales, except Forever 21 - I am still dreaming about this jacket... what do you think? Should I have bought it?? Anyways, we mooched along trying not to bump into crazy sale shoppers! I had a quick peek into Topshop but it was too busy for me! I don't know what it is but ever since I stopped working in retail I just hate sales; they make me feel claustrophobic and anxious! So we ventured to Primark... which was busy but its such a massive store so didn't feel too hectic! I picked up lots of new underwear & mum bought some pyjamas! We only queued for about 5 minutes which really wasnt too bad! Then we decided to call it a day. My feet were hurting and we were tired. Home was calling...

Sorry about the poor picture quality, they were taken on my phone!

Christmas 2013: My Presents

If you follow me on Instagram (@jessicullxo) then you would've seen me post the above picture showing my Christmas presents which I am all so happy with. Obviously I have decided to create a blog post showing my presents and who got me what :) Lets start with what my boy got me...
Firstly, this beaut of a bag which is from New Look. I am in love with the colour & I love the gold detailing.
Little story behind this one... I don't like the white part of an egg so this little contraption just squeezes out the yolk! Amazing eh? :)
Also, some sweets & nail polish, because those are the necessities in a girls life! This nail polish actually has a suede effect as well which I am excited to try!
Just cos I love pugs :)
Lastly, these amazing beauties! The leopard print is fur so when weather is poop & raining you pull them up and the fur doesn't get ruined :) if you hadn't already guessed by now, I love leopard print!!

These are the presents from my mum...
I've wanted a J or a Jess necklace for a while and I finally got one. Yay. I like the longish chain of this one and cute little diamantes.
A pair of many socks I got - which ive already worn & are in the wash... - J Alphabet Bags make up bag which is just big enough to hold the make up I use everyday. Nivea is the only brand lip balm I like and the smells of these are incredible! Raspberry Rose is fruity and the Vanilla one smells so delicious I almost licked it! I have hazel eyes so anything purple in make up really makes them stand out; I've been eyeing up this mascara since it was released so I cant wait to see what it looks like.
Something that has also been on my wanted list for a long time is the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush which I am so excited to try! I currently use the RT Buffing Brush but I've heard such good things about the expert face brush. I am a stationery hoarder so obviously I get pens :)
Leopard print jumper & pyjama set both from New Look.
This fleeced jumper (which is the softest thing ever!!) is also from New Look.

Presents from Scott's family...
Two new purses (not sure where from), a necklace from New Look and some Soap & Glory goodies!
Rimmel London Space Dust in Total Eclipse which I am yet to try :) in the bottle its a black with green glitter in so I am excited to see how it looks on the nail.
A lip shaped mirror, some more socks (WOO) and some lip balm!
Lastly, this little beauty is, as you can see, a playsuit onesie, its fleecey and comfy and just amazing! And from River Island.

So, thats it! I did get some bath bits & perfume from other family members but these are the main bits I wanted to show :) hope you all had a lovely Christmas & have an amazing New Years Eve whatever you may be doing.

Maybelline Brow Drama in Medium Brown

I have been wanting to try this product ever since it was released and it was only a couple of weeks ago I found myself browsing on Boots website and it just so happened to fall into my online basket! I have loved using this every day; the weird shaped spoolie just holds your eyebrow hairs in place like mascara would your eyelashes, whilst adding some definition and structure to your brows.
I definitely think it you want more defined eyebrows then you should use an eyebrow pencil or kit as well because this definitely doesn't add too much colour. I like this though because I am not one of those people whose eyebrows look like they've been drawn on with eyeliner!
In terms of packaging, it does feel quite cheap. Don't get me wrong for £5 I'm not expecting gold encrusted but it just feels quite un-sturdy and a bit flimsy. Packaging issues aside, I do really, really like using this product.

You can pick up Maybelline brow drama here for £4.99

The Purple Smokey Eye

This was a look I sported on Sunday when I went Christmas shopping with my mum to Westfield. I wouldn't call it an inyourface purple smokey eye but I used my Rimmel London Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Paranoid Purple and I looove it! I applied it to my eyelids and blended it out with my finger, I then applied it in my waterline and just along my lower lash line. As I have hazel eyes I find that wearing purple really brings them out. As for mascara, I am loving using Rimmel London Scandaleyes Lycra Flex Mascara on my top lashes and Maybelline Great Lash Mascara on my bottom lashes as the brush is quite a bit smaller than what I am used to. As for my face you can probably guess i am still using Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation in Ivory; I apply this with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I then go on to use the blush from my Look Beauty Cheeky Trio in Candy Floss and I apply this with just an unbranded blush brush I have. As always, my holy grail Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder in Peach Glow holds my make up in place and gets rid of any shine I have.

Avon Nailwear Pro+ in Noir Emerald

I just wanted to share with you guys this amazing nail colour from Avon's nailwear pro+ range. My mum has been doing some Avon work recently so every month I have been looking at the brochures and since the first one I had my eyes on some of the amazing nail polish colours! I also picked up a plum colour and a shimmery petrol blue which is lovely. To be honest application isn't amazing; you definitely need two colours for it to be opaque, however drying time is less than 1 minute which is perfect because I am so impatient! Also, this colour is just perfect for the seasonal time that is now Christmas!

Have you tried any of the Avon nail polishes? What are your preferred colours?

*disclaimer - this was bought for me with my mum's money.

Wishlist #8 - The Christmas Jumper

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

This Christmas I am determined to get a proper Christmas jumper. One reason being I will probably be working Christmas day - boo :'( - so I want to feel as festive as I can & secondly I have never actually worn a proper Christmas jumper; shock horror! I've also been seeing a fair few wishlists out there of other bloggers Christmas jumpers and I just felt inspired to put one together! I think my favourite jumper I have picked has got to be the cute little penguin, which is from New Look. I think its a 3D jumper which I think is just adorable! My second favourite has got to be the 3rd jumper which is from Miss Selfridge, I definitely think its a longer length so would be perfect with leggings which I prefer wearing compared to jeans. Actually, I just love all the jumpers... maybe i'll buy them all?

Do you have a Christmas jumpers wishlist?

Collection Gothic Glam 2 Lipstick in Scorned

OMG do I love this lipstick? HELL YES.
I picked this lipstick up from Superdrug at the weekend after I saw a friend wearing it, asked her where it was from & there I was in front of the Collection counter scanning for it! Normally with red hair & green eyes who goes for a purple lipstick but somehow it just works? It does make me look slightly pale but nothing a little blusher & bronzer can't fix. Apart from the colour I actually really like the packaging as well. The gold detailing on the tube makes the lipstick look more high end than high street. It also feels very sturdy & not at all cheap despite the very affordable £3 price tag.
I only have one downside... it is extremely drying on the lips even with lip balm underneath. It clung to dry patches on my lips so I had to re-apply about 3 or 4 times when I was out Saturday night. However, the colour doesn't fade its just where your lips look so dry you have to apply more lipstick?

I definitely recommend this lipstick purely because of the colour! Seduction & revenge - the two other colours in the range - are definitely on my wishlist as they are perfect berry colours for this season.

You can pick up this lipstick from Superdrug store or here on the Collection website for just £3.

What are your thoughts on these lipsticks if you've tried & tested?
