The Sunday Post: Beauty Wishlist

What better thing to post on a Sunday evening than a wishlist? Usually my wishlists are very fashion related but recently I have been eyeing up some beauty & skincare bits which I thought I could share!

I'm not a massive eyeshadow wearer as I think it doesn't really suit me that much. However, I love the look of the Sleek palettes and this Au Natural Palette would be a good place to start I think; lots of nice neutral shades! After reading many reviews on them, it seems they are a good buy. I have been wanting to buy some new eyeliner for a while but I am just too fussy, I always seem to be browsing the e.l.f website and for less than £4 you cannot really go wrong with this Cream Eyeliner. I definitely think that creamy gel like consistencies in eyeliner always seem to apply better on the eyelid and last much longer than liquid eyeliners so I will be trying this. Next up is something I have heard many rave about, the Lush Cupcake Face Mask - I don't usually do face masks because of a bad allergic reaction when I was younger. However, Lush are known for their fresh & organic products... plus, this is meant to smell exactly like chocolate and I love chocolate? So, win win! I am a massive fan of the Real Techniques brushes and next on my list is the Real Techniques Powder Brush - at the moment I am using a retractable multi-use face brush to apply my powder and I would just love something that is actually meant for powder rather than something I also use to apply blush & bronzer. I have also added the Real Techniques Eye Starter Kit to the list because I think it has a lot of good brushes included! The angled brush could also be used for eyebrows as well as eyeliner and the two eyeshadow brushes could be used to blend concealer! I have already purchased one of the Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipsticks in 'Glam Plum Fulham' but I have 'Let's Get Naked' on my list as it is such a nice peachy nude colour which is just so wearable for everyday. Simple is one my favourite skin care brands; its affordable & it does the job. I have thought about trying their Kind to Skin Eye Make-up Remover for a while now but I have always just re-purchased Bioderma to be safe. I haven't read any bad reviews on this so it may have to be bought when I run out of my Bioderma cleanser. Lastly, is the L'Oreal Elvive Anti Frizz Serum - I have been looking for something like this for a while; my hair gets super frizzy in any weather and this would be perfect to apply after I have blow dryed or straightened just to stop any frizzyness! I'm not sure if this is any good so if anyone has tried this please let me know your thoughts??

Hope you have had a lovely weekend :)

Rimmel London Apocalips in Across the Universe (402)

First things first, let me just apologize for being the world most rubbish blogger ever! I cant even say I have been too busy to blog because that is not the case, I have literally just had nothing to talk about? So here we are with my first Rimmel London Apocalips! I have heard mixed reviews about these but in the end I decided to bite the bullet & just purchased one of the reds - Across the Universe.

Rimmel describe the Apocalips as "The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine...
It's neither a lipstick nor a gloss..." Now, I would say it is definitely a lip gloss but with the intensity of a lipstick. The lasting time isn't amazing; its roughly about 2-3 hours before you have to re-apply. I also did find it was quite drying on the lips but nothing a slick of lip balm can't fix. I would say Across the Universe is one of the truer reds in the collection and I would definitely be interested in trying some other colours. Unfortunately for me, a pink lip does not suit me as much as a red lip does so I can't really try most of the other colours. I think one more little problem I found is that the wand applicator has a hole in it so excess product gets stuck in there and you find yourself with a lot of product on your lips. I found myself having to wipe off most of the product that came out of the tube so I wouldn't be making too much of a mess.
Other than that, definitely a good little lip product and I will purchase more colours when I get a chance.

So again, sorry for the lack of postage in the last few weeks, I will definitely try and get back in the routine of posting a couple of times a week. I know it seems like I only just started a new job but I am actually leaving my current position to go on to bigger & better things; I will be working at a Bupa nursing home (eee) which is very exciting! So at the moment I have to wait for references to be done, I have also got a week and a half left of work at my current position so after that I can start training and hopefully get started :) so lots going on at the moment!

Hope you all have a great weekend, and let me know what you think of the Apocalips?

Wishlist #9 - Essentials

Hello! Currently I am laying on the sofa nursing the worst cold known to man! It has literally come out of nowhere and I am feeling so sorry for myself. Not only am I full of cold but I am now starting to feel sick, which is definitely not good :( hopefully all the flu tablets I am taking will start to take effect soon!
So originally I wanted this wishlist to be January sales based but I soon found that the sales this month are rubbish! I don't know if its just me or maybe i am looking in the wrong places? At this moment in time I am feeling very bitter towards the clothes in my wardrobe and I am getting pretty bored of them so instead, I bring you some essential items & some not-so-essential items that I am lusting after from the likes of Topshop, MissGuided & New Look - my favourite places to shop.

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

So not many items really but I think I would genuinely buy all of these... saying that, when I saw that Halterneck bodysuit from Missguided for just £6.50 I popped two in my online basket, that one in black & a khaki one, I just think they will be so wearable? You could pair them with jeans, disco pants, skirts, shorts & with a cardigan over the top! I love the look of these two jumpers, the grey one is from Topshop and I know it would look perfect with leggings or jeans & just be super comfy! The oversized blue leopard print jumper I chose, well, because its leopard print... and we all know I love a bit of leopard! However, I do like the vibrancy of the blue. Next up was these black leather look skinny trousers from New Look! I love the simpleness of them and I know the leather look will add just that something extra to your outfit. Usually I don't really wear much black except for leggings to lounge around in, but this year I think I am going to try and wear black jeans or trousers instead of leggings and blue jeans because they do make an outfit look just that little bit more nicer and more thought out. Lastly, this longline biker jacket from Missguided I just love! I have actually had my eye on it for a while now and it still hasnt gone into the sale :( I didnt get a chance to buy a new coat last year and I would love something this shape. I think this jacket, the black trousers and the leopard print jumper would make a cute outfit, what do you think?

Hope you have a great weekend.

HELLO 2014!

Happy New Year everybody! I am still in shock at how quick 2013 went. I definitely had a good year, I celebrated my 21st birthday in style with a massive party and was overwhelmed with how amazing my family & friends were. In April I decided to start this little blog after reading others and watching beauty videos on YouTube. Me & Scott also went on our first holiday just by ourselves back in September so that was pretty good :) All in all, I think I did have some good highlights.
As for 2014... well, I'm not one to actually make New Years resolutions as I never keep them but for this year I am going to say I plan to become more organized and definitely concentrate on this blog more! I will also say I am going to get another tattoo! I love tattoos and 2013 saw no new tattoos so this year I am determined to get a new one :)
I don't really want to ramble on too much as this is just a post to say Happy New Year and I am also going to show you what I wore for New Years Eve. We were invited to one of our friends parties; they had hired out the football club bar so it was a proper little party. There were a few tears shed as it struck midnight but it was a really good night. So here is my outfit! excuse the quality of my pictures they were taken on my phone.

Face wise I decided to go simple with Maybelline Gel Eyeliner & Eylure eyelashes in 101. I also decided on sporting a red lip which is Rimmel London Kate Moss in Kiss of Life (111).

Missguided top / Boohoo skirt / ChockersShoes.co.uk shoes / GC Watch

When I first tried on this crop top I was so disappointed as it was really scratchy but I powered through & wore it anyways and to be honest, as the night went on I noticed it less & less... maybe all the alcohol, who knows? I don't think you can really tell but my skirt is actually velvet & who doesn't love a bit of velvet? I realize I was running a risk clashing textures but I think they complimented each other quite well. Plus, I bought this skirt for an absolute bargain at just £10! Lastly, my shoes which were another massive bargain at just £15! ChockersShoes is the ultimate website if you want a new pair of shoes. They have all the designer steals for literally a massive bargain; I always buy new shoes from there. Delivery is always good as well, it only takes 2-3 days even if you order on the weekend!

So that's my outfit from New Years Eve; I was quite pleased with it because I decided I wanted to be a bit sparkly and even though the top was slightly uncomfortable I probably will wear it again!

Again, Happy New Year to all you lovely people and I hope 2014 is a good year for you :) I have a feeling it is going to be a good one for me!
